Overview
We recently completed a custom second-story 1,000-square-foot redwood deck project in Grass Valley, CA. This project began with the careful demolition of the existing structure, making way for a brand-new, high-quality redwood deck that offers both beauty and durability.
Scope of Work
- Demolition: The project started with the demolition of the old deck, removing all worn-out materials and ensuring a clean slate for the new construction.
- Structural Engineering: To ensure the deck’s stability and safety, we engineered large, durable beams that could support the deck’s second-story elevation. This foundation was carefully designed to withstand the environmental conditions typical of Grass Valley.
- Premium Redwood Installation: We installed premium redwood decking, chosen for its natural beauty, resistance to decay, and long-lasting performance. Each board was meticulously placed to create a seamless and visually appealing surface.
- Custom Railing and Finishing Touches: The deck was completed with custom railings designed to complement the redwood while providing safety and aesthetic appeal. Final finishes included sealing the wood to protect it from the elements, ensuring the deck’s longevity.
Final Inspection and Client Walkthrough: After construction was completed, we conducted a thorough final inspection and a walkthrough with the client to ensure everything met their expectations.
